Best Teaching Assistant Award
2025 | University of Twente | 100% votes
In 2025 I was voted by students and university staff as the best teaching assistant in the BSc Business Information Technology. The vote was unanimous (100%), with approx. 35% of the (first year) student base giving their vote.
Quadruple Course Load
2025 | University of Twente | 60 ECTS in 10 weeks
In 2025, I completed 60 ECTS in a single module/ quartile (10 weeks), this is four times the regular study load (15 ECTS). I did so while getting a 9.7/10 during this module, something that is unheard of, not just at the University of Twente, but across the whole Netherlands. While doing my studies I regularly did workloads of 30 or 45 ECTS every quartile while achieving top grades.
Finalist Startup Competition (2x)
2024 – 2025| UTChallenge | Finalist (2x)
In 2024 and 2025 I took part in the UTChallenge alongside a group of other students. The UTChallenge is a startup competition for young entrepreneurs in the region with many groups competing. With two different startups, Edugraph, and Mochi, we made it to the finals, and semi-finals respectively in two separate iterations.
Best Project Award
2024 | University of Twente | 1 / 550
In 2024 I was awarded ‘Best Project’ in Module 4: Data & Information in both my BSc in Business Information Technology and BSc in Technical Computer Science. This award was granted in a cohort of approx. 550 students (from both studies). Several awards were provided from different companies, our group got awarded by Topicus.
Note: I have gotten the highest grade in the majority of projects (all 12 modules excl. module 6), but this award is specifically granted in Module 4: Data & Information.
Boards & Committees
Student Assessor (EEMCS faculty)
2025 – 2026 | University of Twente | 3300 students
Between 2025 and 2026, I worked as the Student Assessor in the EEMCS faculty (Electrical Engineering Mathematics & Computer Science), the biggest faculty in the University of Twente. The Student Assessor is a student member of the faculty board, partaking in meetings and decision making with the dean, director, vice-dean research, and vice-dean education.
Each (one or two) year(s) a student gets selected by the board and committee to take on the role of student assessor, representing the entire (faculty-wide) student body.
In my role as Student Assessor I represent approx. 3300 students (BSc, MSc & PhD). I took part in regular meetings with the faculty board, and executive board. Moreover, I worked on several projects, where I was responsible for: Generative AI Regulations & Policy, Vacancy Bank, Teaching Assistants, and Reconstruction of the EduCafe.
Member Programme Committee (TCS programme)
2025 – 2026 | University of Twente | 1200 students
Between 2024 and 2026, I worked as a member of the Technical Computer Science (TCS) programme committee alongside three other student members. The programme committee is responsible for advising the programme management (director & coordinator) on educational affairs such as; quality assurance, curricula, and educational regulations. I was also part of the EER sub-committee, on educational regulations.
Vice-Chair Programme Committee (BIT programme)
2024 – 2026 | University of Twente | 500 students
Between 2024 and 2026, I worked as the vice-chair of the Business Information Technology (BIT) programme committee alongside two other student members. The programme committee is responsible for advising the programme management (director & coordinator) on educational affairs such as; quality assurance, curricula, and educational regulations. At any time, one student is vice-chair, and one faculty staff member is chair.
Experience
(Head) Research Assistant
2024 – 2026 | University of Twente | 3 projects
Between 2024 and 2026, I worked at the University of Twente as a (head) research assistant on several research projects.
1. BuddyGPT | 2024 – 2025
Led by Prof. Gayane Sedrakyan, I contributed as an engineer, and researcher on BuddyGPT, an educational multi-agent chatbot that utilizes Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG). I worked alongside five other students, where I was leading the research effort. This project has led to several publications, and a finished application that is currently being utilized at the University of Twente.
2. IZEM | 2025 – 2026
Led by Dr. Nacir Bouali, and as a part of the Module 11: Design Project, I contributed on the development of a Large Language Model (LLM) based queuing system for students. The project builds upon prior research I conducted with Dr. Nacir Bouali and Dr. Faizan Ahmed during a Capita Selecta MSc course (research project) on automated assessment of UML class diagrams.
3. GuidedRAG | 2025 – 2026
Led by Dr. Lorenzo Gatti, and as part of a Capita Selecta MSc course (or, research project), I worked on a framework that extends base Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) with ontologies. The project was graded with a full ten, which is exceptional for a capita selecta. After the course concluded, the research has since been extended with the aim of a publication.

Research Intern
2025 | Port of Twente
In 2025 I worked as a research intern at Port of Twente (a consortium of several multinationals, and educational institutes), on the topic of digital twins in freight logistics. This internship was a part of Module 11: BIT Inc., where I worked alongside four other students on a shared company case.
The initial project was completed in half the allotted time, resulting in our group finishing a second project. We were awarded with the highest grade in the cohort, and the highest grade among all cases provided by Port of Twente (over the years). The project resulted in a paper.
Founder & Developer
2025 – 2026 | Mochi
Between 2025 and 2026, I founded and worked at a startup called Mochi, alongside three other students. During this duration we took part in the UTChallenge for startups, and placed as semi-finalists. The application (and physical device) we developed allowed students to take care of a ‘Mochi’ (i.e. your pet) through studying and break taking. Students could set a timer or ‘check-in’ to level up through a gamified system that ranks students. Based on study time, the application would recommend students to take a break, further increasing the levels gained. Mochi has been used at the University of Twente, and we collaborate yearly with the academic staff of Module 4: Data & Information to provide a company case for a cohort of 500 students.
Note: Further details can be found in the Projects tab.
Founder & Developer
2024 – 2025 | Edugraph
Between 2024 and 2025, I founded and worked at a startup called Edugraph, alongside two other students. During this duration we took part in the UTChallenge for startups, and placed as finalists. The application we developed allowed students (and employees) to create a graph – with nodes and edges – that represents their total learning journey. This graph could then be used to suggest new learning paths or to get matched with fellow students for study groups.
Note: Further details can be found in the Projects tab.
Volunteering
Matching Day Lecturer
2025 – 2026 | University of Twente
Between 2025 and 2026, I worked as a presenter at the matching days at the University of Twente for the BSc Business Information Technology. Between 2024 and 2026, I worked as a presenter at the open days at the University of Twente for the BSc Business Information Technology. I was responsible for presenting towards prospective students, and additionally helped in organizing and setting up the open days itself. This includes an iteration of the online open days, where I was part of a podcast for students.
Note: Beyond the open days, I have also helped in organizing and presenting in various different events. Such as German study tours, high school presentations, or at faculty events.
Student for a Day Mentor
2024 – 2025 | University of Twente
Between 2024 and 2025, I worked as a Student for a Day Mentor at the University of Twente. Here I frequently mentored prospective students that were interested in studying the BSc Business Information Technology. Said students would follow a ‘day in the life’ around campus.
Youth Helpline
2019 – 2020 | De Kindertelefoon
Between 2019 and 2020, I worked as a volunteer at De Kindertelefoon (translation: The Children’s Phone). Here I helped support children between the ages of 8 and 18 with mental health problems. De Kindertelefoon is a (beautiful) initiative in the Netherlands, helping many children with mental health problems.
